Projected images of an indigenous dancer among the rubble of destroyed historical buildings at the Santa Fe Indian School and a soundscape of bark beetles infesting the conifers of the American West become symbols of the displacement of Indigenous peoples, the destruction of historical buildings, and the effects of climate change on the environment throughout the world.

Petri dishes are used to incubate cultures, so we felt that by placing the the iPod videos and rubble from the destroyed buildings inside the dishes, they become a metaphor for the acculturation of Native peoples into the dominant society.
